We’re here to help you get the most out of your trip to the Niagara Falls region, with suggestions and tips for year-round enjoyment of this small but spectacular part of central southern Ontario, Canada.
The Niagara region’s geographical situation is unique. A tiny peninsula between two of the Great Lakes– Erie and Ontario, next to the Niagara River and nestled by the Niagara Escarpment–this superb landscape is spectacular and awe-inspiring. It’s definitely one for the bucket list!
This environment creates the unique micro-climate that makes possible one of Niagara’s biggest surprises: the existence of 120 or so vineyards that grace the region, with new ones being added each year.
Niagara Falls is a waterfall, right? Right! Also a town? Right again! In Canada? Yes! There’s a Niagara Falls, NY, too– right? Yes– all true! It’s a little confusing, especially when we add to that the Niagara wine-growing region (Ontario), and the town and municipality of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Fort Niagara? That’s in the States!
